And now we're in a store!!

If you've been around for a while, you'll know I already recounted my tale of the past life regression session that is the starting block for the series "Restitching Destiny."

(If you haven't read it, you might want to!)

Are we on the same page now? Great!

Book One has had a long process getting from those first moments of awareness in Tavin's session chair and now. Writing it down straight, working with my editor to get it ready for the world, and a short stent on KindleVella (which ended half a year later... I won't say it was my story that brought the platform down, but... go figure, am I right?)

As of writing this post, Restitching has been out for almost 4 months, and I was blessed enough that the magical Tavin was willing to let me put up a small display for sale in the shop that started it all really.

I've been going to The Quirky Lotus since just after it opened in its first location back in 2019. When the Pandemic hit, the Lotus was one of the first places I ventured out to. I've got a whole story about burning sage and the fear of coughing I can share another time. In late 2020, the Lotus moved to its current location - a wonderfully quirky purple and green building that just happens to be less than 5 minutes from my day job.

The Quirky Lotus Tribe has ebbed and flowed with time and life, and I'm thankful that I've been able to be apart of it. Its thanks to several folks from that community I've really embraced letting myself take up space. No matter what has happened life wise or how long I've been away, I am always welcomed to the QL Table. It is a deeply magical place and I cannot say enough good things about what its tribe has done for me.

Now, for the fun part! Let's talk about my book display at The Quirky Lotus!

Look at it!!!
Look at it!!!

When you come into the Lotus on the shoppe side (right hand side!) and look to the far right wall, there's a shelf with MY books! I'm still in shock every time I see it! I am currently offering different book bundles for "Restitching Destiny: Book One" - a ding and dent special, signed copies, and signed bundles with character art prints.

Just look at it again!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

The day that I put the books up was the annual "Desserts and Divination" fundraiser event for Carolina Pagan Fest. CPF happens each fall, and while I haven't been able to attend it yet, I hope to go someday soon. The Lotus hosts one such fundraiser while another local Pagan hangout - Mystic Hideaway - hosts the other.

I LOVE Dessert and Divination - what's not to love? You eat desserts, hang out with like minded folks, and spend the afternoon working with different magical practitioners while supporting a great event for our area. Over the years I've had pendulum readings, chord cutting sessions, intuitive card readings - Its always a really neat day filled with magic and sweets.

I was able to help out before hand with some set up, and I of course brought sweet treats to share out. Tavin, wonderful person that she is, looked at me this year and told me how much she liked working with me for this event every year. It made me feel good to know that I'm a welcome part of the community and that it's known I can be relied upon... at least until marching band kicks in for the oldest... and throughout the madhouse my life becomes during the school year.

When the event was over, Tavin called everyone together for some grounding. Practitioners and participants were cleansed and we really just melted into the energy of the day. Once everything was over, I asked Tavin about where my books could live. (We had planned for them to go up that day; I just didn't bother her throughout the day about it because she was busy running everything for practitioner schedules. Like the BAMF she is.) Tavin told everyone gathered about the book's beginnings and then let me sort of brag on my book baby for a few minutes. It was so cool to tell folks about it and it be a group who really GETS the metaphysical undertones.

We're even planning for a "Meet the Author"/ book signing event later in the fall... you know, after marching band is over and I can breath a little bit again.

So now, here I am just over a day later writing about the whole thing. I sort of forget about it and then every so often, my brain goes "You have books for sale in a store now!" It almost makes things more real in a way... but then again, I don't think this author journey is ever going to feel totally real.

I mean, it's been my dream since I was a kid. Right now I still sort of feel like I'm playing pretend.

If you're ever in the Spartanburg area, give The Quirky Lotus a peek. Her tribe is a downright magical bunch and I am one lucky ducky to get to be apart of it all.
