Maybe that's more about me as a writer than it is about my writing projects...

Greetings and long time no post! I'm sure you can understand that life has life-ed extra hard in 2025.

With that said, I wanted to get back into semi-regularly posting here on the blog - and what better way than by sharing about projects I'm working on!

These will be in order by (hopefully) upcoming release date.

Project 1: A Desire for Starlight

This one is one I'm SUPER excited about - my first Romantasy! It follows a bard (Milla) as she is traveling, trying to escape from her past. She encounters a rogue (Panfyr) and they become unlikely allies. They also happen to fall in love (and of course have some delicious spicy times together.) This project is so special to me because the two leads are based on mine and my husband's DND characters from a campaign that is three years running. This story has made me work really hard on writing from a 'male' perspective, as it is dual POV. Needless to say, I have picked my husband's brain RELENTELESSLY. I'm hoping this one will be coming out before the end of 2025. My editor seems pretty positive that we can pull it off.

Project 2: Restitching Destiny: Book 2

It's Book 2 in the series, but you don't have to read them in order! This story follows a different past life of mine that I learned about through Past Life Regression back in 2021. The story follows Isla as she is attempting to keep her family and community safe and together in the aftermath of the battle of Culloden in 1746 Scotland. While going about her normal life, the spectral voice of her cruel, controlling (and now very dead) husband, giving her orders and commands from somewhere between this life and the next. Isla also befriends an English Surgeon Mate - William Acker - who is stationed in the town that Isla's family holds the deeds for. They're not exactly enemies (he's just a good dude, you know?) and they have an unlikely path to becoming lovers. This project is deeply personal - the past life I learned about ended in lonley bitterness, so it was nice to get to rewrite things for Isla. We're hoping to put this one out before the EOY 2025 as well.

Project 3: (Working Title) The Princes of Calrean

This story has been simmering in my brain for almost 5 year - I started drafting and writing scenes for it during the 2020 shut down and the infamous "push in" year as a music teacher. (Like seriously, I took my drafting notebook with me and would sit in the hallway in between classes working on it.) She got shelved for a while, had a brief stint as a dual POV before I realized I needed to overhaul everything. Now, approximately 2.5 overhauls later, I'm hoping to finish this Nutcracker inspired Romantic Fantasy. It follows Clair as she is taken to what her grandmother called "The Land of Sweets" - Calrean. A hidden fae realm where many different fae folk from around the world moved to seek refuge from the persecution of humans. There are seven princes in Calrean, and it is Clair's job to convince them to help her strengthen the magical wards that keep their realm invisible to the rest of the world. Clair's just not very sure she can convince them all to do it. And then there's the fact that she's not a child - the Nutcracker Prince always needed the joyful magic of children. Who knows what that magic could possibly be for a woman? I'm hoping this one can be out in the world by Spring 2026.

Project 4: (Working Title) The Hero's Villainy

I'm going to be ABUNDENTLY real with you - this one started its life as a My Hero Academia fanfiction idea. I LOVE Katsuki Bakugo's character (my husband compared him to Vegeta from Dragonball Z, stating that they're practically the same character and I was gobsmacked when I realized how right he was), and I also really love seeing where characters end up after their adventures. While this obviously is no longer a MHA fanfic, it still carries an important element within it - super heros. Professional heros work in tandem with the police force, and Bastain Sabel is notoruous among the pro hero forces. The son of the highest ranking hero AND villanis, Sabel has a reputation of playing dirty for the greater good. And imagine villanious hero's surprise when a transfer to a new department brings him face to face with the woman who got away 5 years prior. Bridget Carrigan is the granddaughter of the most renounned pro-healer in history - her grandma literally wrote the book on being a healer for a hero team - but Bridget has a couple of secrets that she needs to keep under wraps, even with Bastain Sabel now back in her life and ready to be back in her bed. I'd like to see this story out by early summer 2026. It is the first in a three part series set in the same world with some character overlap.

My current plans are to edit projects 1 and 2 this summer and have them out hopefully (cross all the fingers and toes) by fall and winter, respectively. I'm also shooting to finish the first drafts of projects 3 and 4 before heading back to teach music in the fall.

My mom always said I wasn't happy without 1000 irons in the fire. 😅
